David Anush hails from the Mateer Memorial (MM) Church, Trivandrum, which has been a cradle of Christian devotional music and musicians in Kerala’s capital city.
He also belongs to a family with a worthy musical tradition. Anush’s grand-uncle, Mr S.P. Thomas, leads the Trivandrum Choristers Association and the Trivandrum Men’s Voices, and is also a choir master of the MM Church.
Anush plays the piano and the violin, having been inspired by his pianist grandmother, a violinist great aunt and a pianist aunt.
As a choir master, he is a stickler for quality and firm in His belief that a christian choir exists only to glorify God as a group of servants in His Heavenly house. Anush used to be the organist of the Anglican Christ Church, Singapore. While in Singapore, he was also the choir master of the Immanuel CSI Congregation. During different periods, Anush was also a member of the Celebration Chorus, Singapore, Doha Bach Choir and the Desert Harmony, Doha.
After moving to UAE, he was also the choirmaster of the All Saints CSI Parish, Jebel Ali for 6 years. He currently sings in the Dubai CSI Parish Choir, The Dubai Singers, and leads the ecumenical choir, The JoyFul Singers (JFS)
